NBL1 National Finals to be a 'Blitz' in Canberra

The national grand final series of "pinnacle of semi-professional basketball in Australia" will be held in Canberra, ACT, during the NBL's pre-season Blitz tournament in late August 2025.

NBL1 General Manager Dean Anglin said: "The NBL1 National Finals are truly the pinnacle of semi-professional basketball in Australia, and we are incredibly excited to bring this event to Canberra for 2025.

"Seeing teams from across the country battle it out over three days for the title of NBL1 National Champion is electric, and we can’t wait to see the passionate support from fans for their respective teams.

"With 14 games of NBL1 and 10 games of NBL in the nation’s capital, we hope all basketball fans mark their calendars and make the trip to witness this spectacular showcase of talent and cheer on their favourite teams as they vie for the national title."

National men's champion Knox Raiders and women's champions Waverley Falcons will try to defend their titles against the 10 2025 NBL1 Conference champions from across Australia: North, South, East, West and Central.

Basketball ACT CEO Nicole Bowles said: "On the back of last week's NBL Blitz news, and our own Alex Toohey being picked up in the NBA Draft, basketball in the ACT is enjoying a huge momentum surge.

"We're absolutely thrilled to be hosting the NBL1 National Finals in Canberra, and we can't wait to see the Southern Cross Basketball Stadium in Tuggeranong transformed and projected on the national stage over the last weekend of August.”

NBL1 Finals games will be played at the Southern Cross Stadium in Tuggeranong.

The NBL1 National Finals will be played across three days and the schedule released when each Conference finishes their Finals Series'.
