One of the WNBL's brightest young prospects has joined the Adelaide Lightning revolution after rising point guard Dallas Loughridge signing on for the 2025-26 season to reunite with former Southside Flyers assistant Kerryn Mitchell in South Australia.

The 21-year-old makes the move to the new-look Lightning after exercising her player option following three seasons at the Flyers, where she overcame a season-ending ACL injury in 2022-23 before being part of the club's championship side in 2023-24.

Loughridge then had a career-year last season under Kristi Harrower, where she averaged 11.4 points, 2.1 assists and 1.5 rebounds per game.

She joins WNBA veteran Steph Talbot at the Lightning under Mitchell, who takes over after a stint with the Flyers and most recently the New Zealand Tall Ferns as an assistant coach.

“She is such an exciting young prospect and point guard, she’s definitely ready to run her own team,” Mitchell said in the team's media release.

“She’s shifty with the ball and finishes around the hoop incredibly well, not to mention a knockdown shooter while being deadly from the three. As an assistant at Southside, I saw her work ethic and hunger for success first-hand, I cannot wait to get started with her.”

Loughride is currently dominating the NBL1 South with the Dandenong Rangers, averaging a career-high 20.2 points per game, shooting 37.8% from beyond the arc and  92.6% from the free-throw line.

Her signing is a much-needed boost for Adelaide, who lost young Opals guard Isobel Borlase to the Bendigo Spirit and are also believed to be losing Issie Bourne in free agency as well.
