Forestville Eagles are staring down the possibility of a second consecutive straight-sets finals exit, while South Adelaide has emerged as the clear championship favourite according to the latest episode of NBL1 Central Unleashed.

Hosts Burf and Caldi dissected every semi-final, questioned coaching decisions, previewed this weekend's preliminary finals and debated whether the Eagles can respond after their shock qualifying final loss to South Adelaide.

The pair agreed Forestville enters Saturday night's clash against Central Districts under enormous pressure.

"If they lose to Centrals and go out in straight sets, that is all-time. There'll be a lot of questions," the hosts said.

Despite the concern, both still tipped the minor premiers to beat the Lions and book a Grand Final showdown against South Adelaide.

South Adelaide received glowing praise after beating the Eagles, with the Panthers' defensive discipline, tight seven-man rotation and star duo Lloyd McVeigh and Jeremy Smith highlighted as the keys behind their title credentials.

McVeigh's 30-point performance and two-way impact earned particular praise, while Daniel Smith's contribution off the bench was described as one of the game's biggest difference-makers.

The podcast also declared Central Districts the competition's hottest team after upsetting Sturt.

Rather than relying on one dominant scorer, the Lions were praised for balanced contributions throughout their starting five, with the hosts repeatedly stressing that "multiple contributors win finals."

Attention also turned to the women's preliminary final between Sturt and Norwood.

The hosts questioned whether the Flames are receiving enough production outside stars Kelly Clark and Ali Becky, while suggesting Sturt should tighten its rotation and continue riding MVP contender Taylor Brazel.

Predictions were split in the women's clash, with one host tipping Sturt in overtime and the other backing Norwood by two points.

Both, however, landed on Forestville to survive a dangerous Central Districts challenge in the men's preliminary final.
