Gold Coast 109 def SW Metro 93 — Watch the Replay

Preston Le Gassick delivered a masterful performance with 32 points as Gold Coast overpowered SW Metro 109-93 at Carrara Stadium. The dynamic guard shot at an outstanding 70.6 percent from the field, including a perfect 3-from-3 from beyond the arc, while adding nine assists. Boston Mazlin and Charles Smith IV contributed 21 points each, with Mazlin connecting on 5-from-7 threes in an efficient display.

Gold Coast's shooting was exceptional throughout, hitting 62.1 percent from the field and 63.6 percent from three-point range. Despite Ben Volkman's stellar performance for SW Metro (29 points and 10 rebounds on 80 percent shooting), the Pirates couldn't keep pace with Gold Coast's firepower. Dragan Stajic added 15 assists for the visitors, but it wasn't enough to overcome a 16-point deficit at one stage.

Southern Districts secured a thrilling one-point victory against Mackay in a contest that featured an astounding 21 lead changes at Rowland Cowan Stadium. Blake Jones recorded a dominant double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds, while Tamuri Wigness matched Jones with 21 points and added nine assists despite shooting just 31.8 percent from the field.

The evenly matched battle saw Jaxon Brenchley lead Mackay with 24 points, including 5-from-7 from beyond the arc, while Akol Mawein contributed a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Nandor Kuti was influential for Southern Districts with 16 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists. The game remained tight throughout with neither team leading by more than 11 points, but Southern Districts maintained their advantage for nearly 32 minutes of game time to secure the win.

Darnell Robateau achieved a remarkable triple-double with 21 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists as Sunshine Coast dominated Rockhampton 112-85 at Maroochydore Stadium. Robateau shot an efficient 53.8 percent from the field, including 5-from-9 from beyond the arc, while also collecting four steals in a complete performance.

Earnest Ross added 20 points and seven rebounds for Sunshine Coast, who led by as much as 27 points. The hosts displayed excellent ball movement with 33 assists on 41 made field goals and shot 39.1 percent from three-point range, connecting on 18 triples. Jalen Graham led Rockhampton with 24 points on 61.1 percent shooting, while Malcolm Bernard contributed 22 points and seven assists, but the Rockets struggled from distance, hitting just 24 percent of their three-point attempts.

Josh Kunen delivered a spectacular double-double with 27 points and 11 rebounds as Northside overcame Townsville 91-88 in a hard-fought contest at Townsville StarFM Stadium. Kunen was remarkably efficient, shooting 75 percent from the field, 66.7 percent from three, and a perfect 7-from-7 from the free throw line, while adding four assists and a block.

Tyler Williams supported Kunen with 26 points, including 5-from-9 from beyond the arc, as Northside fought back from a 20-point deficit. Ethan Betts led Townsville with 21 points and 10 rebounds on an efficient 80 percent shooting, while Grant Teichmann and Richard Peachey each added 16 points. Despite controlling the game for 36 minutes, Townsville couldn't hold off Northside's comeback, with the visitors rallying late to secure their three-point victory.

Mackay Meteors 103 def Brisbane Capitals 92 — Watch the Replay

Emmanuel Malou delivered a stellar performance with 28 points as the Mackay Meteors defeated the Brisbane Capitals 103-92 at Auchenflower Stadium. Malou was practically unstoppable from beyond the arc, connecting on six of eight three-point attempts (75%) while adding seven rebounds. Akol Mawein contributed 26 points and nine rebounds, while Cameron Goldfinch added 21 points on an exceptional 81.8% shooting from the field for the visitors.

Despite the loss, Brisbane's Samuel McDaniel led all scorers with 29 points, shooting 50% from the field while adding six rebounds. Uche Dibiamaka contributed 20 points including six three-pointers, and Cameron Thew recorded a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds, including seven offensive boards. The game featured 13 lead changes, but Mackay's exceptional three-point shooting (63.6% compared to Brisbane's 38.2%) proved decisive. The Meteors now look ahead to facing Southern Districts on Saturday, while Brisbane will meet Sunshine Coast in Round 9.
