Kobe's 'Mambacurial' takes the long way round
Featured
Kobe Bryant headlines 33 dated September drops, led by the the delayed 'Mambacurial'.
- Nike Kobe 8 Protro 'Mambacurial' drops here Sunday September 20, six weeks late
- Kobe takes seven of 33 dated releases; Ja Morant has three across the month
- Ten shoes are held back: nine dates we cannot stand up, and one cancellation
The Nike Kobe 8 Protro 'Mambacurial' finally reaches Australia on Sunday September 20, six weeks later than it was meant to.
Red Plum, Electric Green and Pink Flash, style code IO6253-500, US$200. It was pencilled in for August 8 and pulled. The date is now September 19 worldwide, September 20 here, exactly six weeks on.
Kobe accounts for seven of the 33 releases we can date, including two FC Barcelona pairs on Saturday September 5 and the 'Orca' Kobe 3 Protro on Sunday September 27.
Ja Morant gets three, spread across the Ja 4 'Dark Mode' on September 5, the Ja Twelve Time 'Nightmare' the same day, and the Ja 4 'Jaws' on September 19.
Two drops are not Nike-branded: the Converse SHAI 001 'Cheetah' on Friday September 4 and the adidas Anthony Edwards 3 'Cold Blooded' on Wednesday September 16.
And the busiest day here is the first one. Five shoes land on Wednesday September 2, three of them Kobes.

Why these dates are a day later than the American ones
American drops go at 10am US Eastern, which is exactly midnight AEST the next day. Every date above is the US date plus one, so the Australian window runs Wednesday September 2 to Tuesday September 29. Nothing lands here on September 1, and the last American drop of the month is October 1 for us. Daylight saving starts October 4, so the whole month is AEST.
What they cost in Australia
One shoe on this board has a confirmed Australian price rather than an estimate. The Nike Kobe Air Force 1 Low in White/Armoury Blue, style code IB0018-103, is listed on Nike Australia at AU$200 and shows as available to buy, checked August 25, 2026.
Nike Australia lists line prices for six of the models above, though not for these exact colourways: Kobe 8 Protro AU$270, Kobe Dunk Low Protro AU$200, Ja 4 AU$190, KD19 AU$230, Book 2 AU$210, Sabrina 4 AU$200. For everything else, AU pricing not yet published.
Nine shoes we are not dating yet, and one that is not coming at all
Both calendars carry September dates the shoes' own pages do not support, so we are leaving them undated. Eighteen shoes are listed for September 26 on sneakerfiles; four carry that date on their own product page.
- Nike Kobe 9 Elite Low Protro 'EYBL', IB2140-400 – calendar says September 26, its own page says Fall 2026
- Nike LeBron 23 'Hyper Pink', JF4656-600 – calendar says September 26, its own page carries no date
- NOCTA x Nike KD 19 – calendar says September 26, its own page says Fall 2026
- Nike Kobe AD Protro 'Purple Stardust', IO8233-500 – calendar says September 30, its own page carries no date
- Nike Kobe 3 Low Protro GS 'Mismatch', IZ7934-900 – calendar says September 19, its own page says Fall 2026
- Nike GT Future 'Varsity Red', FZ5590-603 – calendar says September 19, its own page says Fall 2026
- Air Jordan 4 'London', IV6048-001 – calendar says September 19, its own page says Fall 2026
- Nike Air More Uptempo 'Cobalt Bliss', DV0819-001 – calendar says September 12, its own page says Fall 2026
- adidas Anthony Edwards 3 Mule, KZ9165 – listed only as September 2026, with no day
And one that is not coming. The Air Jordan 8 'Cavs', 305381-005, is CANCELLED. It still sits on the September 26 calendar, but its own page carries an update dated February 18, 2026 saying it will no longer release, and the FAQ below that still answers September 2026.
Pick of the month
The Nike Kobe 8 Protro 'Mambacurial', Sunday September 20. Six Kobe Protros carry a settled date this month and this is the one with the history: pencilled in for August 8, pulled, now set for September 19 worldwide. At a AU$270 line price it will be gone by lunchtime.
The value pick is different. The Kobe Air Force 1 Low in White/Armoury Blue is AU$200, the only shoe on this list you can price in Australian dollars today, and it is already on Nike Australia. It is a lifestyle Air Force 1, not a Protro, and it will still be there next week. That is the trade.
Two things worth knowing before you queue

The Air Jordan 9 OG 'Space Jam' has moved twice: August 8, then August 29, now September 19, which is September 20 here. The page carrying that correction still answers its own FAQ with August 8, so expect the wrong date to keep circulating.
And one shoe is going out under two names. Style code IV7127-300, Electric Green and Stadium Green, is the Kobe 3 Low Protro 'Electric Green' on sneakerfiles and the 'Grinch' on Sneaker Bar Detroit.
