Sam Simons, Britt Hodges and Taylor Brazel lead early NBL1 Central MVP predictions for 2026 season.

NBL1 Central’s leading players took centre stage on the latest episode of NBL1 Central Unleashed, with Burf and Caldi naming Sam Simons, Britt Hodges and Tayla Brazel as the early favourites in the women’s MVP race ahead of the 2026 season tip-off.

Simons was backed as a strong chance to go one better after a standout 2025 campaign, with her scoring ability and all-round impact expected to drive Forestville’s push towards the top of the ladder. Hodges was also tipped to be firmly in the mix, with the former MVP viewed as the key figure in a deep Woodville Warriors roster projected to contend for the minor premiership.

Brazel rounded out the leading trio, with the Sturt Sabres star gaining momentum after an influential WNBL season with the Adelaide Lightning. Her durability and ability to lift an already balanced Sturt lineup were highlighted as factors that could see her emerge as the league’s most valuable player.
