Two-time WNBL champion Lauren Nicholson did not miss a beat in her return to the league, looking like she never left after starring in a season opening win for the Sydney Flames.
Nicholson, who gave birth to son Ari in April and missed the 2024-25 WNBL season, scored 27 points to lead the Flames to victory over the Geelong Venom and joins basketball.com.au's Bec Cole on the first episode of season two of 'It's a Cole World' to talk all about it.
The 32-year-old was arguably the story of round one for the revamped WNBL, hitting 5-from-10 from beyond the arc as the Flames dominated the Venom.
She recently spoke to basketball.com.au's WNBL reporter Hayley Wildes about making her long-awaited return to the league after a season off, having played NBL1 East for the Sutherland Sharks during the offseason.
Nicholson returned to Sydney, where she won a championship in 2017, for the 2023-24 season after winning a title with the Townsville Fire - helping lead a rejuvenated Flames following the arrival of veteran coach Guy Molloy.
The Flames and Nicholson have two games in round two of the WNBL, starting at home tonight against the Southside Melbourne Flyers before travelling to Perth to take on the Lynx on Sunday.
