Mackay Meteorettes produced the most dominant performance of the NBL1 North Women season, dismantling Brisbane Capitals by 47 points.
Mackay established complete control immediately, exploding for 30 points in the opening quarter before extending the margin with another 28-point second term.
The Meteorettes generated elite offensive balance throughout the game, shooting 51.9% from the field, making 13 threes and finishing with 29 assists.
Monique Bobongie led the offensive flow with 17 points, seven rebounds and six assists, while River Baldwin dominated the interior with 20 points on 9-from-14 shooting.
Chelsea Brook added 14 points and five rebounds, while Sammie Puisis knocked down three triples as Mackay repeatedly broke Brisbane’s defence through pace and ball movement.
Mackay had seven players score at least eight points and consistently punished Brisbane in transition.
The Capitals struggled offensively all night, shooting just 27.6% from the field and going 0-from-24 from three-point range.
Alyssa Brown fought hard with 29 points, five rebounds and three steals, while Tyla Stolberg added 11 points and eight rebounds, but Brisbane couldn’t match Mackay’s offensive pressure.
The result reinforced Mackay’s status as one of the league’s genuine contenders after a strong start to the season.

Cairns Dolphins 92 def. Townsville Flames 67 – Watch the Replay
Mia Loyd produced a dominant all-around performance as Cairns Dolphins stayed unbeaten with a commanding derby win against Townsville Flames.
Loyd finished with 27 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists, controlling the game offensively while anchoring Cairns’ interior presence.
The Dolphins broke the game open early, scoring 31 first-quarter points before building a 47-32 halftime lead.
Brooke Basham added 18 points and seven rebounds, while Leichan Williams shot 7-from-9 from the field for 15 points as Cairns generated efficient offence across the lineup.
Cairns shot 51.3% from the field and consistently created high-quality looks inside the arc, finishing 33-from-57 on two-point attempts.
Townsville stayed competitive through Courtney Woods, who delivered one of the individual performances of the round with 36 points, 11 rebounds and five assists.
But the Flames struggled offensively outside Woods.
Townsville shot just 32.9% from the field overall and 20% from three-point range as Cairns controlled the game defensively after quarter-time.
The Dolphins remain unbeaten and continue to look like the most complete team in the competition.
