Anneli Maley scores record 65 points as Perth Redbacks beat Willetton in NBL1 West clash

Use any superlative you want for Anneli Maley's record-breaking 65-point performance in the Perth Redbacks' 113-102 win against the Willeton Tigers in Round 3 of the 2026 NBL1 West Women's Conference clash on Friday, April 10, 2026.

Maley, 27, with 3:30 left in the fourth quarter smashed Elijah Pepper's record of 59 also in the NBL1 West on July 19, 2025. It lasted just 265 days.

So, we've got: Historic; Unstoppable; Dominant; Relentless; Clinical; Efficient; Overpowering; All-time; and Statement-making.

Ridiculous is also an option. Maley poured in a NBL1 record points total on a simply extraordinary 85% True Shooting.

65 pts │ 17 reb │ 5 ast │ 1 stl │ 1 blk │ 21–29 FG │ 4–7 3PT │ 19–21 FT │ 5 TO │ 2 PF │ +13 (37:20)

= 65 ÷ [2 × (29 + 9.24)]
= 65 ÷ 76.48
= 0.850

But wait, there's more. The WNBL26 leading rebounder also ripped down 17 boards, have assists and three steals in 37:20 minutes. The only blemish was five turnovers.

Maley posted WNBL26’s first triple-double as Perth beat Sydney 108–93 in Perth on February 8, 2026 as the Lynx rolled into the WNBL26 playoffs, eventually falling in two games to the eventual champions Townsville Fire.

In late 2025, Maley was left out of Sandy Brondello's Australian Opals squad ahead of the World Cup qualifiers in Istanbul last month.

"Do you want the diplomatic answer or the brutally honest one? I’ll get fired if I give the brutal one," head coach Ryan Petrik said after the Lynx demolished the Adelaide Lightning 109-82 on Sunday, December 21, 2025 in Adelaide.

"I’ll say again — shell-shocked. I’m not sure what else she’s meant to do. We’ll leave it there.

"She’s playing really, really well. I think all of us are a little bit shell-shocked that she wasn’t in that Opals squad, because her form has been elite," he added.

"Everyone who made that roster is really talented, so I’m not taking anything away from them.

"But if you’re picking on form, with how she’s playing and with us sitting where we are on the ladder despite being at half to three-quarter strength most of the season, I’m not sure what else she’s meant to do."

Maley now holds the all-time single game scoring record in NBL1 – today, the Willeton Tigers are shell-shocked.
