What Happened

The Flyers dominated early proceedings, leading for over 33 minutes compared to Perth's modest five minutes in control. Southside established a commanding 16-point advantage at one stage, building a 66-52 lead by the end of the third quarter through efficient offense and controlled play.

Perth's remarkable fourth-quarter resurgence changed everything. The Lynx outscored the Flyers 27-10 in the final period, showcasing exceptional defensive intensity that limited Southside to just 27 percent shooting from three-point range for the game. Perth's 13-point scoring run proved decisive in swinging momentum their way.

Captain Anneli Maley was outstanding for Perth, collecting a double-double with 22 points and 13 rebounds. Ally Wilson added 14 points and 11 rebounds in a complete performance, while Yemiyah Morris provided valuable bench production with 11 points on efficient 5-from-7 shooting alongside nine rebounds in just 19 minutes.

The Flyers were led by Isabelle Bourne's 22 points on impressive 7-from-10 shooting from two-point range, while captain Cayla George contributed 17 points, 14 rebounds and four assists. Maddi Rocci orchestrated Southside's offense with 15 points and 10 assists, though her eight turnovers proved costly against Perth's defensive pressure.

Free-throw efficiency emerged as a key factor in Perth's victory, with the Lynx converting 24-from-31 attempts (77.4%) compared to Southside's 8-from-13 (61.5%).

Despite the Flyers shooting a higher field-goal percentage (48.7% to 34.7%), Perth's dominance at the charity stripe and timely three-pointers from Maley and Amy Atwell helped complete the comeback in front of their enthusiastic home crowd.
