Matisse Thybulle has thumb surgery and will miss four to six weeks for the Trail Blazers.

Portland Trail Blazers swingman Matisse Thybulle will be sidelined for at least a month after undergoing surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left thumb.

The 28-year-old sustained the injury in Wednesday night’s loss to Utah, appearing to clutch his left hand after a fast break late in the first quarter. He left the game early in the second and did not return.

An MRI on Thursday confirmed a tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in Thybulle’s thumb, with surgery completed later that day. The Blazers said he will be re-evaluated in four to six weeks.

Thybulle, in his seventh NBA season, had averaged five points and one rebound before the setback. He missed much of last season with knee and ankle issues but finished strongly, recording 33 steals and nine blocks across Portland’s final 15 games.
