Allen's dagger seals the Liberty's escape from LA

Rebecca Allen made one shot all night in Los Angeles on Wednesday (AEST), and it was the one that ended the argument.
The Australian was 1-from-5 from the field when she stepped into a corner three with 56 seconds left to push New York to 108-101. Nneka Ogwumike answered with a triple at 25.7 seconds to get the Sparks within four, but no closer.
Los Angeles had led at half time after a 26-17 second quarter. A 32-28 Liberty third flipped it, and Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu traded blows from there, finishing with 29 and 27.
Allen also had two steals and a block in 18 minutes off the bench.
Fellow Australian Anneli Maley, a New York development player, did not dress.

Georgia Amoore was the best player on the floor by the only measure that counts for a bench-heavy night, finishing plus-16 as Washington beat the Connecticut Sun 92-84 in Washington on Wednesday (AEST).
No player on either team bettered it.
Connecticut led 33-26 after a hot first quarter. Washington then outscored them 53-31 across the middle two periods, holding the Sun to 10 points in the third, and a 20-13 Connecticut fourth came far too late.
Amoore scored eight on 3-from-6 with two three-pointers, and ran the offence for five assists and three rebounds in 25 minutes.

WNBA Scores: Indiana Fever 105 def. Seattle Storm 95 (Final)
Jade Melbourne started and gave Seattle everything she had, but the Storm lost their seventh straight, going down 105-95 to the Indiana Fever in Seattle on Wednesday (AEST).
The game was blown open in the opening 10 minutes. Indiana led 37-20 after the first quarter, and although Seattle cut it to five inside the last five minutes, Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell answered every run, finishing with 32 and 28.
Melbourne scored eight on 4-from-7 with four assists and three rebounds in 29 minutes.
Fellow Australian Ezi Magbegor did not play, still sidelined by the facial fracture that has kept her out of the Storm lineup.

Nyadiew Puoch and Stephanie Talbot were on opposite sides in Las Vegas on Wednesday (AEST), and the Aces settled it in the first quarter, winning it 36-21 on the way to a 98-83 result.
A'ja Wilson had 28 points and 14 rebounds. Portland never got the deficit back under double figures after half time.
Puoch was the only Portland rotation player to finish in the black, at plus-one, with three points, three rebounds and a steal in 20 minutes. Talbot came off the bench for Las Vegas with two points, two steals and an assist in 15.
