Australia will secure its best Under-19 Men's World Cup finish since 2003 after beating Israel.

Australia will battle for fifth place after a classification win, 78-72, over Israel on the second last day of the tournament.

Australia built an early lead that built into the double digits before facing a fierce comeback from the Israelis just before half-time, before regaining their composure to finish the game out and set themselves up to take on Canada for the 5th v 6th classification game.

It was Roman Siulepa as the difference maker, pouring in 24 points alongside 7 rebounds to again leave his mark on an Australian victory. Using his size as he has all tournament, he bullied the smaller defenders to get to the rim time after time.
