Indiana's Australian wing Johnny Furphy shook the world with a thunderous poster on Noa Essengue

It was the dunk that shook the world!

Indiana Pacers Johnny Furphy detonated on Chicago's Noa Essengue during the 2025 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas this week in what is being described as the greatest dunk of all-time by an Australian in the NBA. It created one of the most astonishing posters in league history.

"I didn't really plan it out," Furphy admitted.

"I don't normally jump off two feet, so that's a new experience for me.

"It wasn't anything out of the ordinary, I just want to be as aggressive as possible. When I see an opportunity, I'm gonna take it.

"I'm just trying to use my experience as much as possible."

Even better for the 21-year-old Indiana Pacers second-year player, he gave Chicago Bulls Australian draftee Lachlan Olbrich a front-row seat.

It wasn't just the finish, Furphy took the ball coast to coast, went behind his back, crossed over the threw it down with authority, loading it up for the tomahawk.

"This is just a good opportunity for guys like me and other younger guys to have the ball in their hands. So I'm enjoying it," Furphy added.

It's cool, there are just so many familiar faces — I played Lachlan at 2021 Nationals when, you know, I was like a no name.

"So I remember matching up with him and he just dominated, so it's pretty cool to play him on a stage like this — a lot of familiar faces around, so it's pretty special."
