Australian NBA star Josh Giddey has revealed his "Dream Starting 5".
The 23-year-old Chicago Bulls and Australian Boomers point guard's team is stacked with scoring power ... stacked!
- PG: Stephen Curry
- SG: Michael Jordan
- SF: LeBron James
- PF: Kevin Durant
- C: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
“I grew up watching those guys. Steph, LeBron, KD… they were on my wall as a kid," Giddey said.
"So lining up against them that first year was pretty unreal. You try to act like you belong and play it cool, but it hits you. You’re on the same floor as the players you watched your whole childhood. I loved those matchups. I still do.”
Giddey, who signed a four-year USD $100M contract extension before the start of the season, named his Dream Team as part of a Forbes interview for 30 under 30 interview.
Unsurprisingly, Giddey said New York's Madison Square Garden is his favourite place to play. The Melbourne-star has dropped four triple doubles in just six games at the Garden, second to only Boston Celtics legend Larry Bird with six.
Giddey has started the 2025-26 at an All-Star level. He's averaging a near triple double: 20.5 points, 10.0 rebounds and 9.3 assists for the 9-10 Bulls.
It's little wonder he ranks Jordan the greatest of all-time in one of the most debated topics in sports history.
“I probably didn’t grasp how big the Bulls were until I got here,” he said.
“Then you realise – this is Michael Jordan’s team. Everywhere you go in the world, you see Bulls gear.”

Giddey said he grew up idolising triple-double machine Russell Westbrook. Giddey is building a triple double legacy of his own, dropping his 22nd against the Washington Wizards on November 23, 2025 (AEDT) to pass both Abdul-Jabbar and Los Angeles Lakers legend, the late Kobe Bryant.
He still has some way to go to reach the heights of Westbrook, who as an extraordinary history-leading 206.
Giddey revealed he celebrated his new USD $100m contract at a watch shop in Melbourne.
“I was already planning to see my watch guy in Melbourne, but it just happened to be the same day I signed [the new deal],” he revealed.
“Three hours later, I went in and got it.”

What he got himself was meteorite-dial Rolex Daytona to go with his Rolex Datejusts, a Patek Philippe and a Daytona with a Tiffany dial.
“I probably should slow down,” said.
For those wondering, the meteorite-dial Rolex Daytona costs a cool $273,035 + $115 for shipping and handling.
Clearly Giddey is a watch guy and a must-watch for all Australian basketball fans.
