Leah Scott and Kalani Purcell drove Round 2 performances that started to shape the 2026 NBL1 North women’s ladder, powering Logan Thunder and Southern Districts Spartans to unbeaten starts.
Scott controlled both ends in a dominant Logan win, while Purcell’s all-around impact lifted the Spartans to 3-0 and early top spot. Around them, key contributors stepped up as Cairns Dolphins also held firm at 2-0, reinforcing a clear group of contenders.
Round 3 will test whether these early leaders can sustain their form against rising opposition.

Jessica McDowell-White added 17 points and nine assists across 40 minutes, while Emily Preston scored 13 on efficient 71.4% shooting. The Spartans finished with 21 assists and shot 46.9% from the field.
Monique Bobongie produced a standout double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds, while Cheyenne Bobongie added 17 and River Baldwin 16.

Tyla Stolberg led Brisbane with 18 points, but the Capitals shot just 28.8% from the field and 11.1% from three, struggling to generate offence against Logan’s defensive pressure.
