What basketball.com.au is, and why Aussie hoops fans stay

basketball.com.au is the ultimate destination for Australian basketball fans and players who love the game as much as we do

Every Australian playing basketball anywhere in the world, in one place, from the NBA down to NBL1.

  • Every Australian in the NBA, WNBA, NBL, WNBL, NBL1, NCAA, Europe and Japan
  • Live roster trackers, fixture guides in Australian time, and player profiles built from box scores
  • Independent, opinionated, and willing to hold players, coaches and administrators to account

basketball.com.au is Australia's most comprehensive basketball news, views, video, schedules, scores and stats destination.

It is built by Australians, for Australians, about Australians.

We follow them everywhere they play. The NBA and the WNBA. The NBL, the WNBL and NBL1. NCAA Division I, men's and women's. Europe, Japan's B.League, and every Boomers and Opals campaign from qualifying windows through to World Cups and Olympic Games.

There have never been more Australians playing basketball for a living, and they have never been harder to keep track of. On any given week an Australian is starting in the NBA, coming off the bench in the WNBA, leading a college team through a US winter and playing an NBL1 final at home. No single broadcaster carries all of it, and no scoreboard puts it in one place.

That is the job we set ourselves. One site where you can find every one of them.

Our focus is firmly on Australians wherever they are, and that starts at home. basketball.com.au delivers comprehensive coverage of the NBL, the WNBL and NBL1, because the foundation of Australian basketball's success overseas is rock-solid domestic competition, from grassroots juniors through to the elite men's and women's leagues.

Some of what we publish exists nowhere else. Live roster trackers that follow every NBL and WNBL signing through free agency. A running list of every Australian in NCAA Division I, men's and women's, updated as the rosters move. Fixture guides that convert every tip-off to Australian time so you know what to set an alarm for. Player profiles built from the box scores rather than the press releases.

basketball.com.au is proudly and fiercely independent. We have built working relationships with the NBL, the WNBL, NBL1 and EuroLeague, and we are continuing to build them with the NBA and the WNBA, because access makes the coverage better.

But we are not here to be cheerleaders. We tackle the hard issues, we have opinions, and we hold players, coaches and administrators at every level of the game to account. We dish out praise and criticism alike, without fear or favour.

We also correct ourselves in public when we get something wrong, because a masthead that only ever tells you what it got right is not one you should trust.

The site keeps growing. Every month we add coverage, features and depth, and a good deal of it comes from readers telling us what is missing. If there is an Australian, a league or a competition you cannot find here, tell us, and we will go and get it.

Welcome to basketball.com.au. Aussie hoops, all day, every day.

basketball.com.au acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and their ongoing connection to the lands, waters and communities. We pay our respects to Elders past and present and recognise their enduring cultural heritage, beliefs and deep spiritual ties to this land. We extend this respect to all First Nations peoples and affirm our commitment to reconciliation, truth-telling, and honouring the legacy of the world's oldest continuous cultures.
