The move follows the success of the NBAxNBL Melbourne Series and represents another step in the league’s international growth.
“This is yet another exciting milestone in our ambition to continue show the NBL to the rest of world and make it more accessible than ever before,” said Heath O’Loughlin, NBL Group Chief Media and Content Officer.
He added that momentum from the NBAxNBL Melbourne Series has helped pave the way for live NBL access across North America.
North American fans can download the NBA App to access live games, replays, highlights and scheduling information. Selected games will also air on NBA TV. The initial NBA TV slate includes Tasmania JackJumpers v New Zealand Breakers on Friday 17 October and New Zealand Breakers v Melbourne United on Sunday 19 October, with further Round 6 to Round 9 fixtures to follow.
The partnership will showcase the NBL’s style of play and its pipeline of talent, including athletes such as Dash Daniels and Karim Lopez from the Next Stars program, to new audiences across the region.
