Aussie basketball prodigy Indy Cotton has opened up on joining the AFL club he grew up cheering for

Aussie basketball prodigy Indy Cotton's heart was set on coming home to Adelaide with the Crows.

The former Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence scholarship holder, who recently spent a week in China at a Stephen Curry Under Armour camp, made the decision to sign with the Crows — the team he grew up cheering for — as a Category B Rookie.

Cotton turned down interest from up to seven other AFL clubs as well as high-major US college basketball programs to return to football.

“It was a super hard decision, especially with the people I’ve been able to meet through basketball and places it’s been able to take me,” Cotton told Matt Turner from CODE Sports AFL.

“I love basketball just as much, but to be able to come back and play footy is something I’d always loved to do.

“It’s something me and my parents went back and forth on a lot, but landing at Adelaide is one of the best things that’s happened.
