Condon sits 22nd and Daniels 35th, a five-place swing each way since ESPN's early look in June

  • Alex Condon is No. 22 on ESPN's debut 2027 top 100, down from 17th
  • Dash Daniels climbed from 40th to 35th while averaging 12.6 points for the Phoenix
  • ESPN's Jeremy Woo says the board is a ranking of prospects, not a mock draft

Florida Gators big Alex Condon sits No. 22 on ESPN's debut 2027 NBA draft top 100, with South East Melbourne Phoenix Next Star Dash Daniels the only other Australian on the list at No. 35.

ESPN draft analyst Jeremy Woo published the rankings as the US college season tipped off, and he is clear about what they are.

"This is not a mock draft and does not consider team fit or the potential draft order," Woo wrote for ESPN, describing the board as a read on how league executives and scouts value the class.

Both Australians have moved since Woo's first look at the class on June 25, 2026, a top-10 mock followed by a big board to No. 60 that he described as "more like a watch list rather than a mock".

Condon, 22, was 17th in June and has slipped five places, while Daniels, then still listed at Melbourne United, has climbed five places from 40th.

The 2.11m forward-centre from Perth is back at Florida for his senior season after starting on the Gators' 2025 national championship team.

Woo called him "another proven winning college player with a clear path to the NBA" and singled out his size, mobility, passing and motor, along with the athleticism to defend both the four and the five.

The question mark is the jump shot. Condon made just nine of his 53 three-point attempts last season (17 per cent), and Woo said the jumper will be "a key area for improvement that would raise his NBA ceiling significantly."

Last season was still his most productive scoring year of three at Florida. He averaged 15.1 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 34 games, all of them starts, and shot 55.6 per cent from the field, according to ESPN's statistics.

He opened 2026-27 with 11 points, seven rebounds and three assists in Florida's 77-67 win against Miami on Tuesday, November 3 (AEDT). Miami's freshman forward Caleb Gaskins, 18, sits one place below Condon at No. 23 on Woo's board.

Condon is one of three Gators in the top 100, behind teammate Thomas Haugh, 23, at No. 9 and ahead of Rueben Chinyelu, 23, at No. 47. Kansas freshman Tyran Stokes, 19, heads the board.

Daniels, the younger brother of 23-year-old Atlanta Hawks guard Dyson Daniels, is listed by Woo as a point guard and shooting guard but does not carry a write-up in this edition. He joined the Phoenix for NBL27 after he and Melbourne United agreed to part ways in July, and he has stayed in the NBL Next Stars program.

Through 10 NBL27 games, five of them starts, 18-year-old Daniels is averaging 12.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 24 minutes a night, shooting 52.7 per cent from the field and 16-from-42 (38.1 per cent) from three, per the NBL's match statistics.

His biggest scoring night came in Round 1, when he posted 24 points and 12 rebounds on 9-from-13 shooting in the Phoenix's 100-79 win against Perth on September 19. The Phoenix are 4-6 across the 10 games he has played, and they face the Sydney Kings next, on Sunday, November 8 at 3pm (AEDT).

ESPN is not the only outlet to have noticed. CBS Sports draft analyst Adam Finkelstein had Daniels at pick No. 25, to Oklahoma City via Denver, in a 2027 mock draft published on October 17, 2026, describing him as "a similarly impactful defensive prospect" to his brother, with "renewed optimism after some encouraging signs early this season in Australia." Condon was not among Finkelstein's 30 first-round picks.

Woo expects plenty of movement before the 2027 draft, writing that the board will "change quite a bit in the coming months" in what he called a potentially "particularly unpredictable, complex year for the draft."
