Dyson Daniels' steals streak has come to an end.

The Australian Boomers and Atlanta Hawks star's run of consecutive games recording a steal ended at 70 after an upset loss in the Emirates Cup to the bottom-of-the-ladder Washington Wizards.

The tally puts Daniels, 22, with the fourth-longest streak in NBA history behind Chris Paul, Alvin Robertson and Michael Jordan - putting the Bendigo product in esteemed company. His streak lasted an incredible 349 days.

Daniels broke the Atlanta Hawks franchise record against the Los Angeles Lakers November 9 (AEDT) and later surpassed Gary "The Glove" Payton, Mike Conley and Victor Oladipo in his sights.

Not only did Dyson Daniels' steals streak come to an end but the Atlanta Hawks were demolished 132-113 at Capital One Arena.

The victory was Washington's second of the season and they did it with a 45-23 first quarter and that was too much to overcome for Daniels and the Hawks.

Daniels played 32 minutes and went 5-from-11 for 11 points and had nine rebounds and seven assists in the defeat. He had threee turnovers and for the first time in 349 days failed to record a steal.
