The Aussie Boomers big man's career-year continues as Memphis hits form

The bench has done it again for the Memphis Grizzlies, and that bench includes none other than Aussie big man Jock Landale, who is in career-best form.

But Landale did it in a different manner as the Memphis Grizzlies beat the Los Angeles Clippers for their seventh win in their past 10 games.

The former St Mary's Gaels star didn't have eye-catching numbers, but he and the rest of his reserve crew - featuring the likes of Kontavious Caldwell-Pope, Vince Williams Jr and Cam Spencer - led the team in plus-minus and lifted Memphis to an important victory.

It begs the question, especially with first-choice big man Zach Edey out with injury, whether Landale should be slotted back into the starting line-up.

Landale was the only Aussie in action in the NBA today.

NBA BOX SCORE: Los Angeles Clippers vs Memphis Grizzlies

Jock Landale had eight points in 27 minutes but was a +29 in his court time, the second best on the Memphis Grizzlies team in their 121-103 win over the hapless Los Angeles Clippers at the Intuit Dome.

The 30-year-old Boomers big man also had four rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block as well as going an efficient 3-from-5 from the field and 2-from-2 from the free-throw line.

Caldwell-Pope was the only Grizzlies player with a better plus-minus in the match with their starting line-up struggling to get the upper hand over the Clippers.

The performance continues a career year for Landale, who averages 10.8 points and 5.5 rebounds per game while shooting 43.5% from beyond the arc.

NBA BOX SCORE: Utah Jazz vs Dallas Mavericks

Dante Exum has been ruled out for the rest of the season following complications from a knee procedure. The Dallas Mavericks were beaten 140-133 by the Utah Jass despite 42 points from rookie Cooper Flagg.
