The Australian Gems have stormed into the quarter-finals of the FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup 2025, brushing aside Argentina with a 95–46 victory in the Round of 16.
The Aussies wasted no time, asserting control from the opening tip before winning the opening term 22-6 and never looking back.
Prasayus Notoa was instrumental in the win, finishing with a well-rounded stat line of 11 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. She was one of four players to score in double figures, alongside standout efforts from Victorians Sitaya Fagan and 16-year-old Madison Ryan, who each contributed 14 points.
The result keeps the Gems unbeaten in Debrecen with heavy favourites USA, Spain, and Canada the only other teams to remain undefeated.
Next up, Australia will face Hungary on Friday at 7:45pm AEST, with a semi-final berth on the line.
