Lunch Break: how to watch every Aussie NBA game

Nine Australians, seven clubs, and 77 per cent of their games tip inside the Australian lunch hour.

There are nine Australians at seven NBA clubs in 2026-27, and the good news for anyone trying to watch them is that most of it happens over lunch.
Of the 502 fixtures involving an Aussie in the NBA, 387 tip between 10am and 2pm on Australia's east coast. That is almost four in five game of the season.
Only 67 tip before 10am.
The bad news is that no single subscription is obviously right for everyone, and the answer depends on which Australian you actually care about.
NBA League Pass
League Pass is the NBA's own streaming service and it is the only way to watch every game every Australian plays.
If you want all nine Australians, this is the answer and there is no second option.
It runs on mobile, desktop and smart TVs. Premium adds no commercials, in-arena streams during breaks, offline viewing and up to three concurrent devices, while multiview, meaning up to four games at once, and alternative broadcasts are on the standard tier too. If you only care about one Australian, there is a cheaper door in: Team Pass covers a single out-of-market club and costs less than the full League Pass, which suits anyone following Josh Giddey at Chicago or Johnny Furphy at Indiana, the two Australians ESPN in the uS has all but ignored.
ESPN, on Kayo, Foxtel and Disney+
ESPN is the one American network that carries into an ordinary Australian subscription, and in Australia it reaches you through Kayo Sports, Foxtel, and Disney+.
ESPN and ABC have been given 37 of the Australian fixtures in the American schedule, across 28 separate Australian dates.
The catch is that those 37 are not spread evenly. Matisse Thybulle's Lakers have 13 of them and Minnesota have 11, while Josh Giddey's Bulls and Johnny Furphy's Pacers have one each.
So if you follow Giddey, ESPN alone will not get you through the season.
ESPN Australia also sets its own weekly selection and has historically carried more NBA than the American national slate, so treat 37 as a floor rather than a ceiling and check ESPN's own weekly guide.
Understanding the time zones, which is where most people come unstuck
Every time in our fixture guides is Australian eastern time, and there are three traps in that.
The first is that Australian eastern time changes name mid-season. Games are AEDT until Saturday, April 3, 2027, and AEST from Monday, April 5, because Australian daylight saving ends on Sunday, April 4 with games still to play.
The second is Brisbane. Queensland does not observe daylight saving, so from Sunday, October 4, 2026 Brisbane sits an hour behind Sydney and Melbourne. A game listed at 11am AEDT is 10am in Brisbane. That gap closes again on April 4.
The third is that America moves its clocks too, and on a different date. United States daylight saving ends on Sunday, November 1, 2026 and resumes on Sunday, March 14, 2027. Between those dates the gap between the American east coast and Sydney is an hour wider than usual, which is why a fixture that tips at 11am AEDT in October can tip at 12pm AEDT in December against the same opponent.
None of that changes when a game is played. It changes what your clock says when it happens.
Which Australian is easiest to watch
Giddey's Bulls have the friendliest schedule of the lot, with 69 of their 80 games inside the 10am to 2pm window.
Thybulle's Lakers are the hardest, with only 44, and 29 of their games tipping after 2pm.
Dyson Daniels and Jock Landale's Hawks play the most games on an Australian weekend, 26 of them.
And Boxing Day is the single best morning of the year. Both Christmas Day games involving an Australian land on Boxing Day morning here: Thybulle's Lakers host Philadelphia at 9am AEDT, then Josh Green and Rocco Zikarsky's Timberwolves play at midday, both on ABC and ESPN in the United States.
Two things worth knowing before you commit
Johnny Furphy tore an ACL in February and Indiana have confirmed his roster spot but not his availability, so his 80 games are fixtures rather than guaranteed appearances.
Zikarsky is on a two-way contract, which means he is not guaranteed to be with the NBA club on any given date.
The season opens on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, and the first Australian on court is Dyson Daniels at 10am AEDT on Thursday, October 22.
