The NBA x NBL Melbourne Series brings elite international basketball to Australia as the New Orleans Pelicans battle top NBL teams in October 2025.

Game Schedule

The series will feature two high-profile games at Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena:

  • Game 1: New Orleans Pelicans vs Melbourne United - Friday, October 3, 2025, at 7:40 pm AEST
  • Game 2: New Orleans Pelicans vs South East Melbourne Phoenix - Sunday, October 5, 2025, at 2:10 pm AEDT

Special Events

Beyond the games themselves, the series includes several additional events for fans:

  • Pelicans Open Training – Thursday, October 2, 2025, 1 pm AEST: An exclusive opportunity for fans to watch an NBA team practice, featuring a player Q&A session
  • NBA x NBL Fan Night – Saturday, October 4, 2025, 6 pm AEST: An interactive event featuring player performances, basketball challenges, and live entertainment
  • Official Luncheon – Wednesday, October 1, 2025 11am AEST: A premium event offering closer access to players and officials

In addition to the preseason games, the NBA, the NBL and the Pelicans will conduct a Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA clinic on Saturday, Oct. 4 and lifestyle events leading up to and during the week of the games, including a Fan Night on Oct. 4 at Rod Laver Arena headlined by NBA Champions and Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famers Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett.

Fan Night will celebrate the NBA, the NBL and the game of basketball with a variety of fan entertainment featuring Allen and Garnett and players from the Pelicans, United and Phoenix, including a skills challenge, three-point contest, half-court shooting contest, mascot appearances, performances by the Pelicans dance team, and musical performances by singer-songwriter Tones And I.
