Flames recruit Jessica McDowell-White went 4-from-6 from downtown off the bench to lead Sydney to their sixth win of the WNBL26, beating UC Capitals 84-72 on Saturday, January 10, 2026 in Sydney.

McDowell-White, who was a development player at the Townsville Fire last season, scored a team-high 19 points in 28 minutes. She also had five rebounds and five assists as the Flames moved two games clear of the Adelaide Lightning in 7th.

Sydney opened with a strong 22-14 first quarter before extending their advantage to 53-34 at halftime. The Capitals managed to cut into the deficit during the third period, outscoring Sydney 21-16, but the Flames responded with a composed final quarter to secure the 12-point victory.

Jessica McDowell-White proved instrumental for Sydney, delivering an outstanding performance from beyond the arc.
