NBL Injury Report: every injured player and expected return dates

  • Every player the NBL has listed as out, day-to-day or in doubt
  • The injury behind each listing, and the return date the league expects
  • Every rostered player at every club's listed availability

The NBL Injury Report is where you find out who is missing and when they are due back.

It carries every player on every NBL roster, club by club, so a club's count here will run higher than its count on our depth charts.

Read the four states carefully, because one of them is not what it looks like. Out and Day-to-Day both mean the NBL has listed that player or basketball.com.au has monitored an injury not significant for the player to added to the NBL Injury Report. TBC means the player has a listed an injury with no return date attached to it. Available means only the is not on the NBL's Injury List, which is not the same thing they will play.

PlayerStatusInjuryReturn
Flynn CameronOutAnkleRound 5
Left Adelaide’s NBL27 opener against Melbourne United at John Cain Arena on Saturday 19 September 2026 with an ankle injury, reported by basketball.com.au. He started the game. Michael Randall reported on 23 September that Cameron will not fly to Perth for the trip to the Wildcats. Jai at Fox Sports (@NBLPleb) reported on 27 September that Cameron is sidelined in a moon boot on his right ankle and is expected to be out for up to six weeks. That is an upper bound rather than a date, and no starting point was given for it. The NBL’s 29 September update puts his return at Round 5.
Isaac HumphriesOutKneeTBC
Ruled out of the NBL27 season opener against Melbourne United on Saturday 19 September. Adelaide 36ers confirmed it on 18 September: head coach Trevor Gleeson said Humphries "had some ongoing knee injuries" and he did not travel with the squad. Gleeson said he hoped Humphries would be available for the trip to Perth on Thursday, while adding that the club would "just worry about this week". No return date has been given and this is an absence from one game, not a season.
John Jenkins IIIAvailable
Played 20 minutes and 49 seconds and scored seven points for Adelaide in the 98-97 loss at Perth on Thursday 24 September 2026, off the bench. He had been carried Day-to-Day with back spasms after being ruled out of the NBL27 season opener against Melbourne United; that complaint no longer keeps him out, and the NBL removed him from its own injury list in the 26 September refresh.
Matt KenyonAvailable
basketball.com.au reported on Saturday 19 September 2026 that Kenyon played in Adelaide’s NBL27 opener against Melbourne United while the NBL’s own injury list was still carrying him with a concussion and no return date. The league removed him in its 21 September 2026 update, so the two agree again.

Sam McDanielOutLower legRound 8
Will miss at least six weeks with a lower leg injury, the NBL reported on 9 October 2026 in announcing that Brisbane have signed Mawot Mag as his injury replacement player. He was hurt in Brisbane’s home game against Tasmania on Saturday 3 October, the night he returned from a hand injury, and Brisbane’s update of 7 October ruled him out for about six weeks, with Josh Duach suiting up in his absence. The NBL’s list of 7 October has him back in Round 8.
Taine MurrayOutLower LimbRound 4-6
Arnas VelickaOutQuadAbout 8 weeks
Olgun Uluc of ESPN reported on Saturday 10 October 2026, citing sources, that Velicka has a quad injury expected to sideline him for approximately eight weeks. He was hurt in the Bullets’ game against the Cairns Taipans on Thursday 8 October, and the team is aiming for him to return after the November FIBA window. He was averaging 13.8 points and 10.2 assists in NBL27.

Sunday DechOutHamstringRound 8
The Taipans confirmed on 7 October 2026 that Dech will be out for at least four weeks with a hamstring injury, reported by Jai of Fox Sports (@NBLPleb). The NBL’s list of the same evening has him back in Round 8.

Todd BlanchfieldOutFingerTBC
Blanchfield has a broken finger. Illawarra head coach Justin Tatum, as reported by basketball.com.au on Monday 28 September 2026: “As of right now, I know Todd Blanchfield’s finger is broken. The timeframe is to be determined.” An earlier report, on Sunday 27 September, had described it as a broken thumb with a four-to-six-week absence; the coach has since said no timeframe is set.
Dan GridaAvailable
Back for Illawarra against Sydney on Sunday 27 September, confirmed by basketball.com.au. He had been out with a calf complaint since the NBL27 opener away to New Zealand on 20 September, first reported by basketball.com.au on 19 September before either the club or the league published it. The NBL removed him from its own list in its 26 September update; we kept him out a day longer because the SuperCoach register still carried the calf and he had not dressed against Brisbane on 25 September. Both of those have now been overtaken.
Mason PeatlingOut for the seasonFootSeason
Out for the remainder of the NBL27 season. The Illawarra Hawks announced on Friday 9 October 2026, as reported by NBL.com.au, that Peatling will undergo season-ending foot surgery following recommendations from specialists. A club spokesperson: “While the procedure will rule Mason out for the remainder of the NBL27 season, it is expected to provide the best outcome for his long-term health and a full recovery.” He made two appearances this season. On Monday 28 September Illawarra head coach Justin Tatum had said, as reported by basketball.com.au: “Mason will get a scan tomorrow, and hopefully his foot isn’t broken.” Peatling had earlier left Illawarra’s NBL27 Round 1 game against the New Zealand Breakers at Spark Arena on Sunday 20 September with a back issue; Tatum cleared him the same day, saying “He’s fine. He just got hit on a check-down. He bounced right back and said he’s fine.” That was a back complaint; this one is his foot.

Cole AnthonyAvailable
Starts for Melbourne United away to the South East Melbourne Phoenix on Wednesday 24 September 2026, on basketball.com.au’s own information – his first start of the season. basketball.com.au reported on Saturday 19 September 2026 that Anthony is carrying an injury but remains Melbourne United’s starting point guard; he came off the bench in the NBL27 opener against Adelaide. The nature of the injury has not been disclosed to us and is deliberately not named here, and nobody has told us it is resolved. Earlier: Anthony declared himself fit on Monday 14 September for the 19 September opener against Adelaide, telling ESPN "I'll be ready ... I'll be on the court". He missed the CODE Sports NBL Blitz with a calf complaint and played once in the pre-season, so his preparation is thin. basketball.com.au rated him available on Monday 14 September, while the NBL’s list - last edited on Thursday 10 September - still carried him. The league updated that list at 9:00am on Tuesday 15 September and removed him, agreeing the following day.
Chris GouldingOutCalfRound 5
Goulding will miss Melbourne United’s game against Cairns at John Cain Arena on Saturday 3 October with a calf strain, according to the Taipans’ game preview of 3 October 2026. United have not given a return date.

basketball.com.au reported on Saturday 3 October 2026 that Ili is back for Melbourne United, after missing every game of NBL27 so far with a hamstring injury sustained in game two of the Blitz. The Taipans’ game preview had him set to make his NBL27 debut against Cairns at John Cain Arena the same night.

Melbourne United have confirmed the graft from his August 2025 reconstruction failed under rehab loading. He is having a second ACL reconstruction, 9-12 months, and is targeting a return for NBL28 pre-season.

basketball.com.au reported on Saturday 19 September 2026 that Oduro is in Melbourne United’s starting line-up for the NBL27 opener against Adelaide at John Cain Arena. He had been carried Day-to-Day after jamming an ankle at practice and icing it for the back portion of the session; that complaint is resolved and he is available.

Parker Jackson-CartwrightOutLower legNumber of weeks
The New Zealand Breakers announced on Saturday 10 October 2026, as reported by NBL.com.au, that Jackson-Cartwright will be sidelined for a number of weeks with a lower-leg injury. President of Basketball Dillon Boucher: “Our medical team have caught this early and will manage and monitor him carefully over the next few weeks.” Kael Robinson replaced him in the squad for that night’s game against the Perth Wildcats at RAC Arena.
Josiah-Jordan JamesOutHamstringAssessed 9-23 Oct
The Breakers say James has a torn left hamstring, reported by Olgun Uluc on 16 September 2026. On 3 October general manager Dillon Boucher said James is three weeks post-injury and will be assessed at the four-to-six-week mark of his rehabilitation, reported by Jai at Fox Sports (@NBLPleb). Will make his NBL debut against the New Zealand Breakers at RAC Arena on Saturday 10 October, the Perth Wildcats confirmed on Friday 9 October 2026, replacing nominated replacement player Jimmy Whitt on the roster. Earlier that day Perth head coach John Rillie had said Knight was likely to play, as relayed to basketball.com.au. He did not play in any of Perth’s first four games: he missed the start of the season because he was not yet in Australia, and was out against South East Melbourne on Friday 2 October. The NBL’s own list, updated 7 October, still carries him as unavailable with a Round 4 return.
Jo Lual-Acuil JrOutCalfReview in 3 weeks
Perth confirmed on 1 October that he is out with a calf injury, will miss Friday’s home game against South East Melbourne and will be re-evaluated in about three weeks. Development player Tana Kopa replaces him on the roster. He left Perth’s 97-93 win over the New Zealand Breakers on 26 September after 7 minutes and 38 seconds, first reported by basketball.com.au that night.

Two sources, joined. Who is on each roster comes from our own NBL27 projected depth charts; the injury, the status and the expected return come from the NBL’s own list. A player sits under the club our depth chart puts him at, not the club named in his injury line.
Where these figures come from, and how current they are
The league updates its list by hand, so this page is only ever as current as their last edit. The NBL last updated on Wednesday, October 7, 7:00pm AEDT; we read it at 7:40pm AEDT, Wednesday 7 October 2026.
Available usually means the league has not listed him, which is not the same as a club saying he is fit.
Where a row is basketball.com.au's rather than the league's, the note under it says so and gives the date. That covers three kinds: a player the NBL has never listed, a player it has dropped while we still hold him out, and a player we clear before it does.

Every player on every NBL roster, and whether he is available. Four states: Out, TBC for an injury with no expected return, Day-to-Day for a minor knock, and Available. “Available” usually means the league has not listed him, which is not the same as a club saying he is fit. Where we call a player available over a league listing, the note beneath his row says why. Source: NBL.com.au and basketball.com.au
