Women's Preliminary Final: Warwick Senators 90 defeated Rockingham Flames 86 – overtime
Rockingham forward Amy Atwell scored 47 points in her first game since winning 3x3 gold with the Australian Gangurrus at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, and her side still lost, Warwick winning the NBL1 West women's preliminary final 90-86 in overtime at the Mike Barnett Sports Complex on Saturday, August 8, 2026.
She went 13-from-31 from the field and 14-from-14 from the charity stripe.
Atwell added six boards, two assists and a steal in 40 minutes and 20 seconds, and the Flames were tied at 74 when regulation ended.
Warwick won the extra period 16-12.
Mackenzie Clinch Hoycard top-scored for the Senators with 28 points and 10 rebounds on 10-from-16, burying 6-from-9 from beyond the arc. Captain Chloe Forster added 23 and 11 rebounds, going 15-from-17 from the line. Jayda Clark, the competition's Youth Player of the Year, had 22 points and nine assists.
Teige Morrell answered with 20 points and 13 rebounds for Rockingham. Lesila Finau grabbed 13 boards.
Warwick advanced to the NBL1 West Grand Final at RAC Arena.
Men's Preliminary Final: Rockingham Flames 116 defeated Cockburn Cougars 102
The men's Flames had no such trouble.
Isaac White, the NBL1 West Most Valuable Player, scored 32 points with six assists on 10-from-21, going 5-from-10 from three and 7-from-7 from the line. Ryan Godfrey, the competition's Sixth Player of the Year, added 24 on 6-from-10 from beyond the arc.
Emmett Naar handed out 11 assists for 17 points. Blake Jones scored 17 on 7-from-11, Tevin Jackson 14, and Laquinton Ross took 10 rebounds.
Rockingham led 34-28 after a quarter and 67-46 at the main break, and Cockburn's 36-point final term was too late.
Akeem Springs top-scored on the night with 35 points on 12-from-19 for the Cougars. Johny Narkle had 28 points and six rebounds. Joseph Bradshaw pulled down 14 rebounds for 12 points.
Men's Preliminary Final: Geraldton Buccaneers 88 defeated Joondalup Wolves 76
Joshua Keyes, the West Defensive Player of the Year, had 22 points and 13 rebounds on 10-from-17 as the Buccaneers won a game they trailed at half-time.
Verle Williams matched him with 22, going 9-from-11 from the free-throw line. Matthew Norman hit 4-from-8 from three for 12. Captain Liam Hunt, a first-team selection this season, scored 11 with six rebounds and three assists.
Joondalup won the second quarter 28-20 and led 43-40 at the main break. Geraldton took the third 22-14 and the fourth 26-19.
Sharif Black scored 20 for the Wolves, CJ Turnage 19 with seven assists, and Caleb Davis 16 with 10 rebounds.
Women's Preliminary Final: Cockburn Cougars 120 defeated East Perth Eagles 86
The Cougars made 19 three-pointers.
They took 38 attempts from beyond the arc and made half of them, shooting 57.14 per cent overall, and led 69-48 at half-time on the way to a 34-point win.
Darcee Garbin was the reason. The Sixth Player of the Year finished with 32 points and 17 rebounds, going 12-from-17 from the field and 7-from-12 from three.
Jessie Edwards, the West Most Valuable Player and Defensive Player of the Year, added 25 points and 10 rebounds on 10-from-11. Daniel Raber had 21 points and 12 assists. Jaya Scafidi took 12 rebounds for 13 points, and Cierra Walker made five threes for 15.
Stacey Barr, the East Perth captain, had 21 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists in defeat. McKenna Dale went 5-from-5 from three for 19 points in under 18 minutes. Sydney Wright scored 16 on 7-from-11.
Warwick and Cockburn meet in the women's grand final. Rockingham and Geraldton meet in the men's.
