Australian NBA Draft prospect Alex Toohey has worked out with the Sacramento Kings ahead of the June 27, 2025 (AEST) life-changing event.
The Kings workout was Toohey's 12th of the draft process and he said he has "four to five" to go.
"Yeah, I felt pretty good," Toohey said.
"Got in yesterday and kind of saw the city — it's a cool city. All the workouts are pretty similar with six guys, but I enjoyed it here.
"(I) thought the coaches were good, thought everyone was on the same page, and felt like I competed out there. So I was happy with it."
Toohey, 21, is a project early second round draft pick and he wanted to show the Kings his ability to play multiple positions.
"I think just versatility — being able to play different positions and be comfortable in different situations," he described.
"So I think just, yeah, being a confident basketball player across the board."

Australian Duke Blue Devils point guard Tyrese Proctor was also at the workout.
"It's good. We grew up together and played together, so kind of all the coaches yelling at us and screaming at us when we were growing up — this is kind of what they were preparing us for," Toohey said.
"So I feel like we’re well equipped.
"Think he had a great day out there, so yeah, I’m excited to see what happens with us."
Toohey has been in the US for the past couple of months preparing for the draft after winning the NBL's Next Generation Award this year. He explained the process of the NBA team workouts.
"Every team has different drills and that sort of thing, but I think just the coach coming in and kind of saying a few words to us was important," he revealed.
"Kind of telling us if we were gonna play for him, what it’s like, and the things they're expecting.
"So I definitely appreciated that."

He said his experience as an NBL Next Star for the Sydney Kings has prepared him for the next level.
"Just being a pro early — you kinda learn those habits," he said.
"The basketball is one part of it, but the everyday life is another part of it. You’ve got a lot of time to yourself, so you’ve got to make sure you're good with your time management and efficient with your body and your mind, and looking after it.
"On the court, being able to slot in next to a superstar — playing with some high-level players in Sydney and kind of not having many plays run for me — just finding ways to get myself involved: get a rebound, get a steal.
"So I think it’s being able to play against grown men and being able to compete in a high-paced league."

Australia's men's basketball reputation is growing with each and every player that tests themselves at the NBA level.
"Everyone coming from Australia — I think Josh Giddey epitomises that," Toohey added.
"Everyone's kind of not sure if he's quick enough, if he's athletic enough — kind of that scouting report with all this negative stuff — and then he goes out and has the youngest triple-double of all time.
"So I think as long as you have IQ, you'll make it in any league in the world.
"It's just making sure you can make the right reads and play in different situations."
