Another day and another Foxwell has committed to playing college basketball and Portland Pilots fans will be seeing double with Austin Foxwell joining his older brother at the same school for next season.
Foxwell has committed to the University of Portland following an impressive junior career, which included being part of successful Victorian teams at national junior championships, headlined by a gold medal at the Australian Under-20 Championships in 2025 in Ballarat.
He will join Joel Foxwell in Portland following a breakout freshman season, where he averaged 15.7 points, 6.5 assists and 4.1 rebounds for the Pilots this season.
"Just like that, all three Foxwell's are in the NCAA," basketball.com.au contributor and scout at Airtime Basketball, Michael Houben, said.
"After Joel's eye-catching freshman run with the Portland Pilots, Austin is charting the same course, joining his brother in Portland next season, assuming Joel stays."
Austin's commitment to Portland also comes a week after South East Melbourne Phoenix star guard and oldest brother, Owen Foxwell, committed to join SEC powerhouse LSU on a mega NIL deal and leave the NBL.
In more division one commitment news, Australian big man Ryan Hunt has announced he will join Texas Christian University (TCU) from junior college Eastern Arizona.
"Ryan Hunt may be Australia's most dominant junior college player this season, Houben said.
"The seven-footer has been dominating for Eastern Arizona this season, averaging 15 points and 12 rebounds per game.
"Ready to make the jump to D1 basketball, Hunt had interest all around the country, ultimately deciding to join the Horned Frogs in the Big 12."
