It was a strong opening day for Australia’s NCAA women, headlined by standout performances across multiple programs as the 2025–26 college season tipped off in style.

Wake Forest 71 d Radford 64
At Wake Forest, Sydney's Opal Bird impressed in her debut off the bench, adding 10 points and four rebounds in just 21 minutes to help the Demon Deacons edge Radford 71–64 in Winston-Salem. Bird’s energy proved vital late as Wake Forest closed the game on a 26–20 fourth quarter run.
Washington 90 d Seattle U 43
Across the country, Sienna Harvey made an early statement for Washington in their commanding 90–43 win over Seattle. The guard came off the bench to score 15 points in 16 minutes, hitting six of ten from the field and adding two rebounds in a well-rounded display for the Huskies.
Vanderbilt 74 d Cal 65
Queenslander Lulu Twidale also played a key role for California, logging 11 points, seven rebounds one assist and one steal in a tough 74–65 road loss to Vanderbilt. The Victorian guard, known for her playmaking and composure, led the Bears’ offense through key stretches as Cal rallied late but fell short.
Stanford 87 d UNC Greensboro Spartans 42
At Stanford, Lara Somfai made her mark with 15 points and eight rebounds as the Cardinal cruised past UNC Greensboro 87–42 at Maples Pavilion. The freshman forward looked composed on both ends, shooting 6-of-12 from the floor and helping Stanford dominate the paint with a 44–23 rebounding edge.
Oregon 100 d West Georgia 59
And at Oregon, Mia Jacobs helped the Ducks to a 100–59 rout of West Georgia, finishing with 16 points, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals. The former Centre of Excellence product showed her two-way ability alongside a deep Ducks rotation that saw five players score in double figures.
