What could have been: Ben Simmons' '26-27 Kings schedule
Sacramento's 80 games in Australian time, from a 5am Monday in Atlanta to the 28 tips at 2pm AEDT
- This was how to watch every Ben Simmons game in 2026-27, converted to AEDT and AEST
- Twenty-eight Kings games tip at exactly 2pm AEDT, and seven before 10am
- 'Not the end': Simmons promises to return after achilles tear
Devastatingly, Australian point-forward Ben Simmons will not get the NBA comeback he and this this schedule was built for.
Simmons, 30, tore his Achilles tendon at Sacramento Kings practice on Sunday (US time).
It comes just days before the Sacramento Kings open their season against his former club, the LA Clippers, at 1:30pm AEDT on Thursday, October 22, 2026.
Simmons had been working back from sitting out the entire 2025-26 season.
The Kings announced the signing on September 8 (US time) without disclosing terms. ESPN's Bobby Marks reported the deal guaranteed Simmons USD $1 million if he made opening night. Marks added that because an Achilles tear is a significant injury, Simmons will now receive his full USD $3.5 million salary.
Simmons had finished the preseason with 14 points, eight rebounds and seven assists in 26 minutes, shooting 5-from-9 from the field, in a 126-97 loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday, October 17 (AEDT). The Kings finished the preseason 0-5.
"This injury is another chapter in my journey, not the end of my story," Simmons posted on his Instagram story.
For Australian viewers following the Kings, Sacramento is an early-afternoon club. Its median tip-off across 80 released games is 1pm AEDT. Twenty-eight games tip at exactly 2pm AEDT, 43 start between 10am and 1:30pm, and only two start after 2pm.
The other seven start before 10am, all on a Sunday or Monday morning. The earliest is a 5am AEDT start against Dyson Daniels and Jock Landale's Atlanta Hawks on Monday, February 15, a day after a 6am AEDT tip against Johnny Furphy's Indiana Pacers.
Twenty Kings games fall on a Saturday or Sunday in Australia, and 19 of them tip between 10am and 2pm. The other 60 land in the working week, and League Pass is the only way to see every Kings game.
