The Bullets are reportedly on the lookout for a seventh coach in five years

The Stu Lash coaching experiment in Brisbane is set to end, reports Michael Randall and Matt Logue from CODE Sports Basketball.

After a sixth straight loss that dropped the Bullets to 5-13 on the season, it’s understood both the Bullets and Lash have privately acknowledged it’s time to move in another direction.

Code Sports understands in the days prior to a 25 point loss to Adelaide in round 11, conversations were initiated between club and coach.

It’s understood Lash could coach this round’s two games against South East Melbourne and New Zealand.

The American could also move back into the club’s front office, something he alluded to at a recent fan forum.

Lash, who signed a three-year deal and moved his young family to Brisbane, maintained throughout his 18-game tenure the outside noise didn’t bother him, but there were early signs he did not possess the experience for the role.

Former Perth Wildcats championship mentor Rob Beveridge, recently brought in by the Bullets to aid Lash, looms as one potential candidate for the job.

Code Sports understands the Bullets have not ruled out another run at Henare, who is currently coaching Shimane Susanoo Magic in the Japanese B.League, although it remains to be seen if the Kiwi legend maintains an interest, given previous developments.
