Dyson's 'sneaky bounce' on show for new-look Hawks

Dyson Daniels' second poster dunk for the season is a sign of just how well things are going for the new-look Atlanta Hawks, who demolished the Portland Trail Blazers for their fourth straight win.
Just a month after posterising Micah Potter in a 22-point performance against the Indiana Pacers, Daniels put former teammate Vit Kerjci on a highlight, throwing down a tomahawk dunk over the Czech native as the Hawks recorded a 135-101 victory over the Trail Blazers at State Farm Arena.
"I think the one on Potter was more impressive, I can't lie," Daniels' teammate Onyeka Okongwu said in the post-game press conference alongside the Aussie.
"I didn't think he was going to dunk that.
"(Dyson) has sneaky bounce when he wants to use it."
Daniels also spoke on what it felt like dunking on one of his "good friends" in Krejci.
"V's my guy, he knows he better than to jump," he said.
"He was here for like three or four years, he's a really good player for us, so glad he's got an opportunity to show himself in Portland and I just wish wish the best for him. He's one of my good friends over there."
It wasn't the only highlight for the Bendigo product following a wraparound pass to Okongwu for one of his seven makes from beyond the arc.
"I knew he was there, his man was coming over to block shots, so they leave him open," Daniels said.
"We got to find him."
The Hawks are flying since the trade deadline, where they acquired veteran guard CJ McCollum as well as wing Johnathan Kuminga from the Golden State Warriors, Aussie big man Jock Landale from the Memphis Grizzlies, Corey Kispert from the Washington Wizards and Gabe Vincent from the Los Angeles Lakers.
Atlanta shipped out several players - none bigger than All-Star point guard Trae Young, but they haven't missed a beat since the break, with the starting five of Daniels, McCollum, Jalen Johnson, Okongwu and Nickeil Alexander-Walker among the best starting groups in the NBA in recent weeks.
Daniels said it was all about setting the tone but also praised the Hawks' bench group.
"Not just the starters, the bench is coming in playing really well, too," he said.
"Guys are coming in and doing their role but it starts with the starter, it starts with us. We got to get us off to a good start, play the right way and get the game going.
Okongwu echoed Daniels' comments and said the Hawks were playing their best basketball of the season.
"I would say so because you know it takes a while to you know get acclimated with basically a whole team we had last month and then we got (Kuminga) coming in trying to get him you know with the program and you know he's fit in nicely," he said.
"We continue to keep building and growing close to April time."
Landale had another impressive game off the bench for the Hawks with 14 points and five rebounds in just 18 minutes.
