Big re-signings and even bigger departures headline a busy free agency period for season 2026-27

The race to build a WNBL27 championship contender is heating up as clubs continue to reshape their rosters ahead of the 2026-27 season.

The biggest move of the off-season came when Australian Opals and Seattle Storm point guard Jade Melbourne signed with reigning champions Bendigo Spirit, while Southside Melbourne Flyers landed Chinese international star Wang Siyu to headline a revamped backcourt under new coach Sam Mackinnon. The free agency market has also seen Australian stars Sami Whitcomb, Steph Reid, Steph Talbot and Zitina Aokuso find new homes, while imports continue to arrive and several marquee players remain unsigned.
