His brother has taken the NBA by storm over the past year but Dash Daniels is next up.

The 17-year-old NBL Next Star with Melbourne United is a projected first round pick in next year's NBA Draft and joined Jason Cadee on the latest edition of 'Cut to the Jase'.

Daniels speaks about everything from how he's dealt with the hype as a teenager, taking on the New Orleans Pelicans in the NBLxNBA series in Melbourne, learning from the NBA's Most Improved Player in his brother Dyson Daniels, improving his three-point shot as well as playing for the Australian Boomers at the recent FIBA Asia Cup and the upcoming series against the New Zealand Tall Blacks.

Recent mock drafts from different publications have the Bendigo product in different spots for next year's draft with The Athletic's Sam Vecenie predicting Daniels to go at pick 14 while the latest from ESPN has him going 23rd.

But one thing is for certain, Daniels has impressed in his first professional season with the league-leading United, shooting 36% from distance, averaging 5.8 points per game and also taking the challenge of guarding the opposition's best players - including five-time MVP Bryce Cotton.

Daniels has played a major role of the bench for Melbourne in a reserves unit which also features the likes of Tanner Krebs, Fabian Krslovic, Kyle Bowen and more.
