Ben Simmons started and scored seven points in nine minutes in his first preseason game for the Sacramento Kings, who lost 111-106 to the Golden State Warriors at Chase Center on Sunday, October 11 (AEDT), while Rocco Zikarsky scored with 38.5 seconds left in the Minnesota Timberwolves' 125-124 win against the Miami Heat.
Simmons, who was not on Sacramento's box score for its first two preseason games, played all of his minutes in the first quarter, going 2-from-4 from the field and 3-from-4 at the line with an assist, while Alex Toohey did not play for Golden State. Zikarsky's layup put Minnesota ahead 123-121 before Miami edged in front, and Antonio Reeves won it with a floater with 2.3 seconds left.
Dyson Daniels had seven points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals in 24 minutes as the Atlanta Hawks beat the Indiana Pacers 119-117 in Indianapolis, with Jock Landale adding two points in nine minutes and Johnny Furphy still out with his knee injury.
