A knee injury to Adelaide Lightning import Serena Sundell has soured a dominant display as they dismantled the Sydney Flames 88-71 at the SA State Basketball Centre.
Sundell had 20 points and six steals to lead the way in the commanding 17-point victory before being helped off the court in the fourth quarter.

What Happened
Adelaide Lightning established control early, racing to a 24-14 lead in the opening quarter. They maintained their momentum in the second period, outscoring the Flames 22-19 to take a comfortable 46-33 advantage into halftime.
The third quarter proved decisive as Adelaide completely overwhelmed Sydney with a dominant 28-10 run. Sundell was exceptional during this stretch, shooting an efficient 6-from-8 from two-point range and adding 2-from-4 from beyond the arc. Her defensive presence was equally impressive, recording six steals to disrupt Sydney's offensive rhythm.
Sania Feagin provided outstanding support with 18 points on 7-from-9 shooting and nine rebounds in just under 29 minutes. The forward's dominance in the paint helped Adelaide establish their interior presence throughout the contest.
Dallas Loughridge added 14 points and six assists, while Steph Talbot contributed 10 points, five rebounds, and three blocks in a solid all-around effort.
The Lightning's superior shooting efficiency was the difference, connecting on 54.05% from the field compared to Sydney's 43.2%. Adelaide was particularly lethal from three-point range, hitting 11-from-20 (55%) compared to Sydney's 7-from-27 (25.9%). This shooting disparity allowed Adelaide to build their largest lead of 33 points.
Sydney showed signs of life in the final period, winning the quarter 28-14 behind Shaneice Swain's 16 points and Lauren Nicholson's 14 points.
However, the late rally proved insufficient as Adelaide had already established an insurmountable advantage. The Flames struggled to contain Adelaide's balanced attack, which saw five players score seven or more points.
It was the Lightning's second consecutive win while the Flames fell to their fourth loss in their past five games.
