You're just 60 seconds away from being a SuperCoach
Never played SuperCoach NBL? An account, a team name and auto-select has you in before Saturday.
- SuperCoach NBL is free and the first lockout is 7.30pm (AEST) on Saturday
- Auto-select builds a team, but it will not pick your captain
- Your captain scores double, the single biggest advantage in the game
Sixty seconds is all that separates you from becoming a SuperCoach NBL star.
It’s easier than learning how to make a lay-up and takes a whole lot less time.
This is how you do it:
1. Create an account
Sixty seconds. An email address and a password. You don't have to pay, now or later (if you don’t want to).
2. Name your team
Pick your name: This is the part everyone spends the longest on, and it matters least, so don't let it stop you.
3. Hit auto-select
The game fills your squad for you: 10 players, four guards, four forwards and two centres, all of it under the $2,000,000 salary cap. You now have a team entered in the competition. Click "Save My Team".
Auto-select is not quite "done", and here is the one more thing to do
Your captain scores double. It is the single biggest benefit in the game, every round, and Auto-Select won't choose one for you. Pick your best player, set them as captain, and set a vice-captain too, because if your captain doesn't play, the vice-captain takes over the doubling. If neither plays, you get no double at all that round.
That is it: one button, one decision, then hit “Save My Team”.
It’s a slam dunk, and it’s that easy!
You are now locked in!
Nothing you do before Saturday night is permanent. You can make unlimited changes until the first lockout, and you can save a half-finished team and come back to it. So auto-select is not a commitment; it is a starting position. Take the team the game gives you, then swap in whoever you like between now and 7.30pm.
Two things worth knowing when you start swapping. A squad of 10 is four guards, four forwards, and two centres, but only five take the court. And the five on your bench aren't dead weight; they score half their points, rounded up.
Once you are in, the rules are here.
Seriously, what are you waiting for?

Good, now you’re in. This is what you need to know
How SuperCoach NBL scoring works
Your SuperCoach NBL Team accrues points based on how the real players you have selected perform on the court for their respective teams.
SuperCoach NBL Scoring Explained
- Two-point Field Goal = 2 Points
- Three-point Field Goal = 3 Points
- Free Throw = 1 Point
- Rebound = 1 Point
- Assist = 2 Points
- Block = 3 Points
- Steal = 3 Points
- Turnover = -2 Points
- Double Double = 5 Points
- Triple Double = 10 Points (supersedes Double Double)
- Your captain, whom you choose every week, is awarded double their score.
- Players on your bench contribute 50% of their overall individual SuperCoach totals to your team's weekly points total, with any half-point rounded up.
- Personal fouls do not accrue positive or negative points.
The $2 million salary cap explained
You can save and enter your team only if it has 10 players and is at or under the $2M Salary Cap. Before the first Lockout, you can save incomplete teams while you make your selection decisions.
Explore the Player lists by position, price, and team in the panel on the right-hand side of the SuperCoach NBL interface, then click to add them to your team.
SuperCoach NBL will track your team's total cost and alert you if you exceed the salary cap. It's a hard blocker.
How do I join a league?
Creating and saving your team adds you to a “Public League” automatically. Job done.
But if you want to join the “Private League” one of your friends has created, you’ll get an email from SuperCoach if you’ve been invited to join; follow the instructions.
Or click the “Create/Join League” button; you’ll be prompted to enter the league’s code. Enter the code and hit “Join League.
That’s it – you’re a SuperCoach now.
