Sydney Kings first into the NBL26 Championship Series, chasing their sixth title

The Sydney Kings are just three wins away from their sixth NBL title after a professional Game 2 win against the Perth Wildcats in Perth on Saturday, March 14, 2026.

The Kings await the winner of the Game 3 clash between the South East Melbourne Phoenix and Adelaide 36ers.

MVP runner-up Kendric Davis was the ultimate professional bucket-getter, hitting a clutch three deep into the fourth to keep Perth from making a comeback.

Seven-time NBL Coach of the Year Brian Goorjian called a time out down the stretch and the Kings closed it out.

Davis finished with 27 points, five rebounds and five assists and was +17 in 37:30 minutes.

The Sydney Kings produced a dominant final quarter to pull away from the Perth Wildcats and secure an impressive 89–75 road win at RAC Arena.

In a tightly contested first half, Perth controlled the tempo through their interior presence and rebounding advantage, taking a slim 46–43 lead into the main break. Ben Henshall’s perimeter scoring and the combined work on the glass from Jo Lual-Acuil Jr and Kristian Doolittle kept the Wildcats marginally in front as both teams traded momentum through 11 lead changes.

Sydney responded after half-time by tightening defensively and taking advantage of the Wildcats without injured star Dylan Windler. The game remained within reach entering the final term before the Kings exploded for 29 fourth-quarter points, holding Perth to just 16 to break the contest open.

Kendric Davis led all scorers with 27 points and five assists, while Makuach Maluach added 23 points on 8-of-12 shooting and eight rebounds, providing a decisive scoring punch inside. Matthew Dellavedova orchestrated the offence with 11 points and five assists.

Perth shot just 34.2% from the field and 31.7% from three, with Doolittle (15 points, nine rebounds) and Henshall (20 points) leading the resistance, but turnovers and late-game execution proved costly as Sydney closed strongly to claim the win.
