He's taken the world by storm with his incredible reaction videos to AFL highlights after discovering the sport only a couple of months ago but now viral US streamer Paco Luciano has turned his attention to Australian basketball in a two-part series of the Bounce Pass Breakdown.
In part one, host of the newest basketball.com.au show Lukas Petridis catches up with the internet sensation and newly-adopted Aussie for a series of real-time reactions to incredible Australian women athletes, including the GOAT, Lauren Jackson, as well as two-sport stars Erin Phillips and Monique Conti.
Based in Las Vegas, Luciano spoke with Petridis for almost 90 minutes for this special series, which has already seen several clips receive significant feedback both on his own Instagram page as well as @bouncepass.
And what a special way to tip-off the first part of the series then chat about Jackson, the greatest Australian basketball ever, who's illustrious career included two WNBA championships with the Seattle Storm, three WNBA MVP awards, a WNBA Defensive Player of the Year, a three-time scoring champion and her famous No.15 retired by the Storm.
She also won seven WNBL championships with the Canberra Capitals and Southside Flyers, four WNBL MVP awards and was named WNBL Grand Final MVP four times as well - etching her name among the best Australian athletes in sporting history.
Petridis and Luciano also talks about two-sport stars in Phillips and Conti, who both had success in basketball and in the AFLW.
Phillips was part of history-making Australian Opals gold medal winning side at the 2006 FIBA World Championship and also had a successful career in the WNBA, winning two championships with the Indiana Fever and Phoenix Mercury under Sandy Brondello. The South Australian then returned to Australia to follow in her father's footsteps in football, winning three AFLW premierships with the Adelaide Crows and two best and fairest medals in 2017 and 2019 before having the award currently named after her.
Conti, who is still in the prime of her career at 26-years-old, was a star junior in basketball - representing Australia at major junior international tournaments before winning a WNBL title with the Flyers in 2020. She later quit basketball to focus on her AFLW career, where she currently plays for the Richmond Tigers.
Stay tuned for part two with Paco Luciano in the coming weeks.
