Adnam hits game-winner in NBL1 North debut
NBL1 North Men Round 1 on May 1-2, 2025: Bradtke, Spartans backcourt star in victories.

NBL veteran Kyle Adnam ended his NBL1 North debut in the best possible way, hitting a game-winning three to lead the Southern Districts Spartans to a nail-biting 110-109 victory against Logan at Bendigo Bank Cornubia Park Sports Centre in their season opener.
Adnam delivered an outstanding performance with 36 points on 54.2 percent shooting, including connecting on six-from-12 from deep, while Tamuri Wigness added an explosive 34 points on a highly efficient 56 percent shooting from the field. Matt Kenyon led the way for Logan with 26 points and eight assists.
The contest was a true back-and-forth affair featuring 47 lead changes and 20 ties, with neither team leading by more than 10 points throughout. Logan's balanced attack saw three players score 20-plus points, with Zac Triplett (25 points, eight rebounds) and Callum Dalton (23 points, 10 rebounds) joining Kenyon in an impressive offensive display.
Andre Ugrinic provided valuable support for Southern Districts with 11 rebounds and eight points, while both teams shot exceptionally well from three-point range – Southern Districts connecting at 50 percent and Logan at 40.7 percent. Despite Logan's advantages in assists (23-11) and rebounding (41-36), Southern Districts' 14 steals proved crucial in the one-point victory.
Ipswich @ Gold Coast
Gold Coast tipped-off their NBL1 North Men's campaign with a 98-88 victory against Ipswich at Carrara Stadium.
Jensen Bradtke delivered an outstanding performance, connecting on all five of his three-point attempts en route to a game-high 27 points. Reuben Te Rangi added 23 points and six assists, while Boston Mazlin contributed 19 points and eight assists in a well-rounded team effort.
The contest featured 20 lead changes and six ties, showcasing the competitive nature of both squads. Gold Coast's superior ball movement was evident with 28 assists compared to Ipswich's 16, leading to an efficient 50.7% shooting performance.
Ipswich's Ngor Nai matched Bradtke's 27 points and added 11 rebounds for a double-double, while Lamar Patterson and William Mahoney each contributed 17 points in defeat. Despite controlling the paint (54-38 points in the paint), Ipswich couldn't overcome Gold Coast's stellar three-point shooting (40.6% to 33.3%).
