Johnny Furphy had the last laugh over fellow Aussie Josh Green as Indiana earned an upset win

Aussie Johnny Furphy has helped the Indiana Pacers return to the winner's list for the first time in a month after a nail-biting victory over Josh Green and the Charlotte Hornets.

In a battle of future Boomers teammates, Furphy had the last laugh over Green, ending Indiana's 13-game losing streak which stretched all the way back to December 9, 2025.

The victory also helped Pacers coach Rick Carlisle record his 1000th win in the NBA after being stuck on 999 since their win over Sacramento a month ago.

Beating Charlotte is a significant win for Indiana, considering the Hornets' recent improvement which featured a blowout win over the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder.

It was an otherwise tough day for Aussies in the NBA with Joe Ingles and Tyrese Proctor not hitting the court as their two teams met while Josh Giddey's Chicago Bulls had their clash with the Miami Heat postponed due to condensation on the court at the United Center.
