Basketball.com.au's Jason Cadee called it!

Jaylin Galloway's dominance in an Australian Boomers uniform may come as a surprise to some, but not to Cadee - his NBL1 teammate at the Bankstown Bruins in NBL legend and host of 'Cut to the Jase'.

After an MVP performance at the FIBA Asia Cup earlier this year, leading Australia to a third consecutive gold medal, the 22-year-old Sydney Kings guard is again showing he turns into something different when he represents the green and gold.

Galloway was the equal-leading top scorer in game one of the series against the New Zealand Tall Blacks on November 28 in Hobart, scoring 19 points as Australia edged out their trans-Tasman rivals 84-79.

His performance comes after a quiet start for the inconsistent Kings, despite most expecting a breakout year for the former Milwaukee Bucks two-way player.

"I'm looking to guys who have maybe not had as much opportunity for different reasons in the NBL togo back in that environment and step up," Cadee said on the latest edition of 'Cut to the Jase'.

"Someone like Jaylin Galloway, I think this series is his for the taking, given what we saw him do earlier in the year (with the Boomers) and some glimpses in his time with Sydney.

"I see someone like him being big time.

"I think the series is Australia's to lose, they to me should be the strongest side coming off the Asia Cup and things like that and they've obviously kept a portion of that crew together... I think having Keanu Pinder, Nick Kay and Jack White and those guys coming in, that'll help against (New Zealand's big men)."

With the Boomers and Tall Blacks rivalry featuring so many iconic moments across history, Cadee also believed we should go back to seeing these teams face-off annually, like they used to when both teams were part of the FIBA Oceania Championships before moving to the Asian region.

"I think it's it's one of those things where a lot of us grew up with that... I think it's great to see it," he said.

"I think it's actually, if you think about the scheduling, I think it's really smart. It just makes a lot of sense if Australia and New Zealand are in that pool together to do something like this where it's like you play them in a two game series almost.

"I think it adds for us as spectators and us wanting to enjoy it, but also for the players."

A three-point barrage from South East Melbourne Phoenix guard Angus Glover helped the Boomers earn a comeback victory over the Tall Blacks in game one but the two teams will lock horns again tonight in Wellington.
