Seven Australians are already secured for 2026–27, including by Dyson Daniels and Josh Giddey on matching USD $100 million deals, alongside Kyrie Irving, whose max-level contract continues to anchor the top end of Australian-born earnings.
Josh Green remains a mid-tier starter contract, while younger pieces Johnny Furphy and Tyrese Proctor are locked into rookie-scale deals.
Rocco Zikarsky sits on a two-way, representing the next development tier.
The bigger story is the 2025–26 exit group, where Australia faces its most uncertain NBA cycle in years.
Veterans Joe Ingles and Jock Landale are all unrestricted free agents, while rotation players Dante Exum and Matisse Thybulle also hit the open market.
Ben Simmons remains the biggest wildcard after sitting out the entire 2025-26 season while becoming a professional fisherman.
At the fringe, restricted free agents and two-way players – including Alex Toohey, Lachlan Olbrich and Luke Travers – will fight for roster elevation.
The career path for Toohey and Travers are less certain after being waived by the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers during the season.
