Brisbane Bullets star Casey Prather told Jason Cadee on Cut to the Jase "we just trying to win games, trying to feed our families and trying to do the best we can on the court" and they did just that against the Cairns Taipans in Round 7 of NBL26 at Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Thursday, October 25, 2025.
Prather, who delivered 21 points, 10 rebounds and three assists in the 113-85 win, was responding to speculation there was an "emergency meeting" after getting monstered 116-89 by the Illawarra Hawks in Round 4. Brisbane is now 4-6 and sixth on the ladder, moving past the Sydney Kings.
"We've always been a tight-knit group regardless of the results of the game," Prather said.
"It was no meeting up there (in Illawarra). If it was, it probably was just like film or something.
"We don't let that stuff bother us, bro. We professional, we grown men, we older, we just trying to win games, trying to feed our families and trying to do the best we can on the court. All the other stuff is just extra."
The only bright spot for the Taipans, now 2-8, was the return of Jack McVeigh. McVeigh missed the past couple of ball games with a wrist injury.

What Happened
Brisbane gained control early and never looked back, leading for over 27 minutes of the contest. The Bullets took a 57-47 advantage into halftime after outscoring the Taipans 32-20 in the second quarter. They maintained their dominance throughout the second half, particularly in the fourth quarter where they outscored Cairns 34-18.
The game featured an impressive 25 lead changes in the early stages before Brisbane established their dominance. The Bullets mounted their biggest scoring run of 11 points to pull away, while Cairns' largest run of eight points proved insufficient against Brisbane's offensive firepower.
Tyrell Harrison complemented Prather's performance with 21 points on outstanding 9-from-13 shooting from the field, adding eight rebounds and two blocks in 29 minutes. Jaylen Adams provided a spark off the bench with 20 points, five rebounds, and seven assists. Brisbane's depth was on full display with six players scoring in double figures.
Brisbane's efficiency from the field was the difference-maker, shooting an impressive 55 percent (41-from-74) compared to Cairns' 45 percent (32-from-70). The Bullets were particularly dominant from beyond the arc, connecting on 13 triples to Cairns' six. Brisbane also controlled the glass with a commanding 42-31 rebounding advantage, including 12 offensive boards that led to crucial second-chance points.
While Cairns had a strong showing in assists with 30 compared to Brisbane's 21, they struggled to convert these opportunities into points. The Taipans had brief moments of promise, including a period where they led by five points, but ultimately couldn't maintain their momentum against Brisbane's consistent offensive attack.
