The Bullets have made their first big splash in NBL Free Agency under new coach Stu Lash.

  • Sacramento State big man Jacob Holt has agreed to a three-year deal with the Brisbane Bullets
  • Holt was impressive in the 2024-25 season, averaging 16.3 points and 6.9 rebounds for the Hornets
  • He is the second new player to sign with the Bullets after Kiwi sharpshooter Taine Murray

The Brisbane Bullets have made their first splash in NBL Free Agency under new coach Stu Lash after signing dominant college big man Jacob Holt to a three-year deal, sources told basketball.com.au.

Holt commits to the Bullets following four seasons at the NCAA Division 1 level with Santa Clara for two years before finishing with his last two seasons at the Sacramento State Hornets, where he impressed in his senior year, averaging 16.3 points and 6.9 rebounds while shooting 50.4% from the field and 34.8% from the three-point line.

The 6'10" forward/centre from Delta, British Columbia joins the NBL as a local with the Bullets strategically discovering his eligibility due to his Australian mother.

It is believed the third year of the deal is a mutual option.

Holt, 21, provides much-needed size for the Bullets to back up talented Kiwi big man Tyrell Harrison, especially after the departure of Next Star Rocco Zikarsky, who seems destined for the NBA having declared for the draft and competing at the Draft Combine this week. The only other size the Bullets currently have on their roster is Tohi Smith-Milner but the Tall Blacks star stands at just 6'7".

Holt appears to be a signing ready to contribute at the NBL immediately after his dominant senior year and has shown a history of development and improvement in his game, increasing his numbers significantly from his junior year, where he averaged just 6.7 points and 4.6 rebounds per game.

His senior season for Sacramento State, included a season-high of 35 points along with 10 rebounds against the University of Idaho, as well as 32 points and seven rebounds against Eastern Washington University.

Holt had 11 games with 20 points or more and six games, where he recorded a double-double.

His signing adds to the Bullets roster, which already includes Harrison, Smith-Milner, Mitch Norton, Casey Prather, Sam McDaniel and Taine Murray while Brisbane are also interested in bringing back guard James Batemon.
