The man at the top of Australia's elite basketball pathways on the country's unprecedented success

Gold medals on the world stage and the green and gold have never gone together more than they have this year.

Basketball Australia completed a memorable year in international basketball with the Sapphires winning the FIBA Under-16 Women's Asia Cup in Malaysia - making it six Asia Cup titles within seven months. Adding to the success was a silver medal for the Aussie Gems at the FIBA Under-19 Women's World Cup earlier this year.

On episode four of Cut to the Jase, Basketball Australia's General Manager of the Centre of Excellence and Performance Pathways, Peter Lonergan, joins former Emus and Boomers guard Jason Cadee to talk about the national program's unprecedented success.

Lonergan also talks about where he thinks Australia sit in world basketball, the challenges of elite juniors going forward, coach development, the lack of local-born coaches in the NBL and a whole lot more.

On the rest of this episode, Cadee recaps the previous round and previews the upcoming round of the NBL, gives his JC5 points from the league and gives his tips for round four of competition.
