Whitcomb fires, Borlase works, Rocci perfect as Aussies impress in WNBA preseason

Reigning WNBL MVP Isobel Borlase, Maddi Rocci and Nyadiew Puoch are now WNBA players.

Borlase had 13 points for the Atlanta Dream in her first WNBA game, a preseason 87-84 win against the Chicago Sky, Rocci had 11 points including 7-of-7 from the free throw line in the Toronto Tempo first ever WNBA game under Australian Opals head coach Sandy Brondello, while Puoch had four points in 20 minutes in the Portland Fire's first WNBA game.

The Tempo lost 83-78 to the Connecticut Sun and the Fire 91-81 to Ezi Magbegor and Jade Melbourne's Seattle Storm.

WNBA and WNBL veteran Sami Whitcomb delivered the most efficient scoring night, while Borlase and Rocci logged extended minutes as Australian players continued building cases for rotation spots.
