He's one of the biggest names to have played in Australia, who had an unceremonious departure from the Adelaide 36ers, but former NBA Sixth Man of the Year Montrezl Harrell has guaranteed fans he will be back in the NBL.
"Don't know what team in NBL but I will be back promise that I got some unfinished business, I don't like leaving things undone!," Harrell posted on X.
Also in response to a fan saying "come back to the NBL", Harrell responded "see you next season, no worries".
It comes after the 36ers parted ways with Harrell due to uncertainty surrounding his ban arising from a positive marijuana test during his playing stint in China over the offseason.
Harrell's former Adelaide teammate and basketball.com.au's Jason Cadee, who was shocked at the enigmatic big man's release earlier this year, said it would be great to see him back in the NBL.
"He has a love for Australia and thoroughly enjoyed playing here so it’ll be very interesting what teams appetites are for someone with the talent he has," Cadee told basketball.com.au.
"Trez brings a different flavour to the league. Animated entertainer who can dominate a basketball game."
It is believed Harrell is currently serving his ban from the positive test while playing in the CBA.
He averaged 20.5 points and 9.3 rebounds for the 36ers last season.
